Winter Fun

When the snowflakes start to appear outdoor enthusiasts start to cheer. The powder filled valleys and mountains beckon snowboarders, skaters, skiers and snowshoers to come out and play.

Skiing/Snowboarding/Cross Country Skiing

At Crystal Mountain and Telemark Cross Country Ski area, it is about relaxing, having fun and being close to nature. You won’t find the hustle and bustle of high-end ski resorts here. Located just 20 minutes from Westbank town centre, you can spend more time hitting the slopes and trails and less time in your car getting there.

Snowshoeing

Hit the trails with some snowshoes strapped on. It is a great way to gain access to beautiful winter wonderland sites. Follow the trails at Telemark Cross Country Ski area or book a tour with Selah Outdoor Adventures. Try something different and book their ‘Starlight Snowshoe Hike and Fondue’ or participate in the White Rabbit Snowshoe Festival and Race at Crystal Mountain.

Ice Skating

Winter just wouldn’t be winter without a little ice skating. Head to the local skating rinks of Jim Lind Area or Royal LePage Place and enjoy family skate time or when the weather is cold enough Shannon Lake is a popular spot for outdoor ice skating. Just watch out for the ice fishermen!

Tobogganing

When the snow starts to fly, everyone wants to know where the best toboggan hills are. While there are no ‘official’ toboggan hills in town, several known spots to be popular are Hudson Road School and if you head out Glenrosa Rd there is a well-used spot on the way to Crystal Mountain.
